CABWMT Membership Grows
Black and White Men Together was organized two years ago in San Francisco by Gay men who felt isolated from others of their own or another race, who found themselves turned off or turned out of bars and cliques, who found their social lives limited by misunderstanding and prejudice directed at Gay and Black people.
They determined to form BWMT to broaden their social opportunities and to combat racism in the Gay community.
Today BWMT has grown to include over 25 autonomous chapters in as many cities. The national membership has reached nearly 3,000.
On December 6, 1981, a meeting was called by the founder of the Columbus Chapter Rick Hanson. In attendance were only five prospective members who decided to begin the work of organizing BWMT in Columbus. Since then membership has grown to over thirty members and continues to increase.
The Columbus Association of Black and White Men Together is dedicated to bringing
people of different origins together in a relaxed environment, in a setting where we can all develop awareness about and sensitivity to one another. This has meant that the last months have been very active ones for us. Among other things we have:
1. Elected representatives to the Board of the International Association of BWMT. 2. Attended two Eastern Regional Networking Conferences in Philadelphia and Boston.
3. Were represented at the Midwestern Conference in Cleveland.
4. Hosted a pot luck and rap session in Columbus.
5. Attended the High Gear seminar in Cleveland.
6. Participated in the Gay Pride Week Planning Coalition.
7. Held a joint fundraiser with Stonewall Union at the Kismet.
Our plans for the next couple of months include hosting a barbecue on May 30, a workshop and swim party during Gay Pride Week,
LGSU Schedules Events
The Lesbian/Gay Student Union, starting its fourth year as a recognized organization at Case Western Reserve University, is one of the most active gay organizations in northern Ohio. Membership is open to undergraduate and graduate students as well as faculty and other members of the university community. It also welcomes gay people who are not affiliated with CWRU.
LGSU's purposes combine providing a support group for gays and lesbians at CWRU with consciousness-raising within the greater Cleveland gay community and joining other organizations to advance the case of gay rights. Through regular weekly meetings, including rap sessions, and by holding parties and other social events it offers a congenial atmosphere for gay people. It also sponsors

The son of a notorious and wealthy St. Tropez couple, handsome Robbie Cosling is nearing the end of his teenage years. He is a budding artist, but unsure what path his life will take. Then, in the spring of 1938, on an idyllic tour of the Greek islands, Robbie is seduced by a deckhand on his father's yacht.
Many brief and exciting affairs follow, but it is not until he arrives back in St. Tropez that he finds love. With Toni Guilloux, a dancer in a local club, Robbie begins a friendship which soon blossoms into something much deeper. His parents disapprove of the lifestyle he has found, and their volatile marriage, as well as the tragedies of war, interrupt all the peace and pleasure he has discovered. But ultimately, Robbie's discovery of love gives him the courage he needs to begin a life of his own, and to attempt reconciliation with those nearest to him.
